Wajig dirancang untuk berjalan dalam sedemikian rupa agar sesuai dengan sistem itu berjalan dan kebijakan dari administrator sistem. Hal ini dapat dijalankan sebagai user biasa, tetapi sekali perintah istimewa diperlukan akan menggunakan baik su dan meminta password root, atau yang lain itu dapat menggunakan sudo dan bergantung pada password pengguna normal. Hal ini juga dapat dijalankan langsung sebagai root tanpa setup ekstra (yaitu, tanpa perlu sudo atau secara teratur memasok password). -s|--simulate Trace but don't execute the sequence of underlying commands.
-t|--teaching Trace the sequence of commands performed.
-v|--verbose=n Increase (or set) the level of verbosity (to n).
-y|--yes Assume yes for any questions asked.
Wajig mengharapkan perintah dan akan memanggil alat-alat lain Debian untuk melakukan perintah. Perintah dapat dalam kasus campuran dan dengan tanda hubung dan garis bawah, dan secara internal ini dipetakan ke satu perintah. Dengan demikian, perintah `Install ',` INSTALL', `install 'dan bahkan` in-stall' ditafsirkan identik.
